What are Tooth Extractions?

In some unfortunate cases, teeth are not able to be saved and therefore need removing. We know it can be worrying to lose a tooth, so we will discuss with you all of the options available on a way to replace them.

Extraction sounds scary, but it is actually very straight forward. The methods we use ensure that the tooth is removed in the most comfortable way possible whilst aiding the healing of the area.

If a replacement is desired in a lot of cases, we can organise the treatment so the replacement, or at least a temporary, is organised the same day.

At Beverley Dental we are lucky to have a team that is specially trained for our patients who need more difficult extractions or removal of wisdom teeth. We are equipped and prepared to tackle any tooth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

We use the most potent local anaesthetic so that the extraction just feels like a little bit of pushing, no pain at all!

I need a tooth taken out but don’t want to be walking around with a gap!

Don’t worry! If you inform us of this concern before treatment, we will make sure that you are aware of the options and can have something temporary in place straight after the extraction. No one need ever know!

Can I go back to work after an extraction?

After the majority of extractions, you will be fine to return to work or your daily activities the same day as the procedure.

How long does it take to heal?

In most cases within a week but if it gets infected, then it can take longer. We make sure you’ve had full instructions after the procedure to give you the best chance of this not happening.
